During every Dragon Boast Festival which falls on May 5th of the lunar calendar, the Shishi City in southern Fujian Province holds the annual Hanjiang Sea Water Splashing Festival. The custom has been kept for over 200 years since the Qing Dynasty. And today, it becomes even more grand as it has become an important culture event connecting the mainland and Taiwan people.
The event cross-Strait folk culture and intangible culture protection with a series of traditional activities including dragon boat race, sea water splashing festival, duck catching and king’s boat sea cruise.
9:00-10:30: Depart from Xiamen to the Ancient Ferry Terminal, Hou An Ao, Hanjiang Town, Shishi City
10:30-12:00: Free visit to festival activities
12:00 -13:00: Have local food for lunch
13:00 -16:30: Free visit to festival activities
16:30: Get together to return to Xiamen
