Strolling in Sanzhou Ancient Village in Fujian's Longyan

Dais' Family Temple, also called Mingdetang, has been recognized as a cultural relic protection site by the Fujian provincial authorities. 
 
Sanzhou ancient village has been recently honored as a national famous historical and cultural village by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the National Antiques Bureau.

A total of over 50 ancient architectural complexes in the style of both the Ming (1368-1644)and Qing dynasties (1644—1911) are well-preserved in the ancient town, including houses, ancestral halls, family temples, old banyans, pavilions, old wells and memorial archways.

These ancient architectural pieces,with their unique Hakka styles, have high artistic and ornamental value. Dai Family Temple, Wenchang Pavilion, Xianxu Temple and Guanting Relics are all ancient Hakka buildings. Dais’ Family Temple, also called Mingdetang, has been recognized as a provincial cultural relic protection site.

Driving Routes

Drive along the Xia-Rong Highway until the Hetian exit. Then drive along the Hetian-Sanzhou ecological landscape avenue which leads to Sanzhou. The entrance to the ancient village is right there.

Traveling Tips

Sanzhou village is situated in southeast Changting county and has convenient transportation. It takes only a five-minute drive from the Hetian exit of the Long-Chang Highway, sixty-minutes drive to Longyan city center and twenty-minutes to Changting county.

Sanzhou ancient town has been honored as a national famous historical and cultural village and has lots of well-preserved ancient architectural complexes with their unique Hakka style, built in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing dynasties (1644—1911), such as houses, ancestral halls, family temples, old banyans, pavilions, old wells and memorial archway.  
Sanzhou village works hard to promote its agricultural eco-tourism. A grand ceremony to celebrate the waxberry season is held around the Dragon Boat Festival in June every year, attracting tourists from around the world.
