Xiamen ranks 4th among top 10 hottest destinations during Duanwu holiday

According to a report released by the China Tourism Academy and Ctrip, Xiamen took fourth place among the top 10 most popular domestic travel destinations during the 3-day Duanwu Festival holiday, from May 31st to June 2nd this year, only second to Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou.
 
The other six popular cities were Suzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

According to the report, the top 10 cities that saw the most residents leave for other tourist destinations were Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Xi’an, Xiamen and Kunming.
Xiamen ranks 2nd among top 10 spots in China for evading the smog

During the holiday, a total of 150,000 passengers visited Gulangyu Island and were responsible for 155 tons of garbage accumulation on the island.

According to Xiamen Railway Station, the station handled 255,000 passengers from May 30th to June 2nd, nearly 60,000 passengers more than the same period last year, and of which 215,000 were bullet train passengers.
