Xiamen Airlines seeking to mount flights to Manila

Chinese carrier Xiamen Airlines is seeking to mount flights to the Philippines, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported on Monday.

The Inquirer said Xiamen Airlines, a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines, filed a petition with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) for permission to fly international passenger and cargo air transport services in the country.

CAB scheduled a hearing on September 25.

At present, there are three Chinese carriers operating at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) -- China Southern, China Air and China Eastern.
